MTR Connect | Zach Lambert & Ben Cremer

August 6 @ 7:30 pm - 8:45 pm
Popular media can display Christianity in its worst light, while many behind the scenes are quietly reflecting the ways of Jesus. Today, religious and political forces unite. Yet don’t let the headlines fool you. That’s not Jesus.
Join us as we examine and reclaim the Christian response to our LGBTQ+ neighbors.

In this episode, you’ll hear from two influential thought-leaders who are countering current narratives, and helping us get us back to what the Bible and following Jesus have always been about.

Zach Lambert

Zach is a friend and defender of the LGBTQ+ community, with a strong social media following given his clear voice of advocacy for the ways of Jesus. He is the author of the forthcoming book Better Ways to Read the Bible, which is about transforming the Bible from a weapon of harm into a tool of healing. Publisher’s Weekly calls it “a wide-ranging and cogent guide to seeing scripture in a new light. Disenchanted Christians will be energized.”

Zach is the Lead Pastor and co-founder of Restore Church in Austin TX, and is the co-founder of the Post Evangelical Collective which resources church and ministry leaders seeking to create a more just, inclusive church grounded in the ways of Jesus. Zach is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry at Duke Divinity School.

Ben Cremer

Rev. Benjamin R. Cremer is a pastor and theologian, whose prolific content has garnered a significant following. Spending the majority of his life in Evangelical Christian spaces, he explore topics at the intersection of politics and Christianity, calling us to move away from Christian nationalism, religious fundamentalism, and church hurt to reclaim the Gospel of Jesus. Ben weekly produces podcast sermons and a newsletter, and has signed with Brazos Press with his book release slotted for 2026. Ben holds a Masters degree in Theological Studies and Spiritual Formation.
