I’m excitedly working with my agent on a book proposal to publishers. Since many folks are writing about LGBTQ+ matters these days, I sat down to try and articulate what is unique about me and my work.
I think it comes down to one word: HOPE. For amidst the noise, I see a quiet reformation well under way.
Despite divisive rhetoric, there are productive happenings behind the scenes, with many curious Christians and Church leaders rethinking what it means to love our LGBTQ+ neighbor well.
We all decide where to give our attention and effort. I propose we give more to hope. Not blindly. But hope nonetheless.
Hope that most people don’t want to remain divided. Hope that we can elevate the conversation, and find common ground. Hope that most want to grow in emapthy and compassion, and that we all are quite capable of that given the right invitation and environment, far from the noise.
